null McDevitt Obituary

Daniel W. McDevitt, III, of Wimberley, Texas, passed away on July 15, 2006. He was born on September 29, 1950, at Ft. Hood, Texas, to Msgt. Daniel and Swanee McDevitt. Dan was a veteran having served with the U.S. Coast Guard. He was an active member of the Wimberley Lion's Club and could be found working in the kitchen on Market Days. He served six years on the WISD school board as a trustee. During that time he made many friends that were very special to him. Dan and his family hosted eleven students in their home from all over the world. Two young men found a home in Wimberley as they touched our hearts, Javier Guzman of Seville, Spain and Marcio Parrera of Bela Horizonte, Brazil. Dan is also survived by: his loving wife of twenty-eight years, Paula Anne McDevitt; son Sean and his wife Briana; and daughter Renee. He was awaiting the birth of his first grandchild. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Mertz and her husband Gene of Double Oak. His many nieces and nephews include Steven (and Denise) LeBouef, Charley LeBouef, Shanon (and Jim) Gillenwater, Stacy (and Early) VanCleve, Duane (and Cherri) Mertz, David Mertz, Clarissa LeBouef, Justin LeBouef, and Jacob LeBouef. A Funeral Mass was held at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Wimberley, on Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at 7 p.m., with Fr. Gahan officiating. Graveside Services will take place on Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
