Abel Nanez Obituary

NANEZ
Abel M. Nanez Jr., 66 born April 11, 1942 in San Antonio, TX., was called to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday December 16, 2008. Abel went in peace surrounded by his family as they lovingly bid his farewell. He is preceded in death by his father Abel Nanez Sr., brother Raul M. Nanez Sr. and granddaughter Jessica G. Banda. Abel M. Nanez Jr. is survived by his loving wife Elvira O. Nanez, mother Beatriz M. Nanez, daughter Christine B. Nanez, son Abel O. (Jeanette G.) Nanez III; blessed grandchildren Megan L. Banda, Naomi C. Banda, Abel G. Nanez IV, Aaron I. Nanez and Stephanie J. Banda, sisters; Rebecca Martinez, Dalia Soto; brother Miguel M. Nanez, brother in law Juan A. (Virginia) Ortiz, and sister in law Gloria O. Navarro. Numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Abel loved to watch his Cowboys games, looked forward to his family trips to Garner State Park every summer, but his passion was singing and playing the guitar.
SERVICES
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2008from 1:00P.M.-9:00P.M. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00P.M. at Palm Heights Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 19, 2008 at 11:00A.M. at Divine Providence Catholic Church with interment to follow in San Fernando Cemetery II.

To the Nanez Family Especially Vera,Sorry for your lost. Abel was a very special person in my life and has taught me a great deal as a kid growing up till I work with him and my Dad Lupe Adames at united van lines.I always enjoyed being around you and your jokes and listening play the guitar. I'm truly sorry I miss his funeral but my heart was there now he's with my Dad Lupe and Uncle Gene reunited once again. Nanez Family, Abel, "El Huero" was my cousin and we grew up together across the street from each other's house. He was a good person and a good guitar player who played at my wedding in 1963. My prayers are with you all and May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
