Dear Margaret and Members of the Casillas Family,
Please accept my deepest and most sincere condolences. I am terribly sorry that Mr. Casillas has passed away. Do find solace in knowing that he will be remembered in my daily prayers and may his soul rest in peace.
I still have many fond and unforgettable memories of when I first met Mers. Casillas in the summer of 1971 as I was beginning my professional career as an educator with the South San Antonio ISD and he was the Principal at Kindred Elementary School. My office in the Bilingual Education Center was located across from his office and I looked forward to seeing him and visiting with him on a daily basis. Mr. Casillas was, besides an extraordinary human being, an excellent school administrator. I never heard one complain about him, either from parents, students, or teachers. He was loved by all who knew him. His warm and affable personality radiated to those around him. And yes, the world was a better place because of him, he touched so many lives through many decades of being a school administrator. So, cherish his memory with kindness and happiness as I know you will.
My thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow and I pray that our loving God will grant you the strength and courage to accept His divine will.
With deepest sympathy,
J. Gilberto Quezada
