Alejandro Saenz, Jr., born April 27, 1933, entered into eternal life on February 4, 2022 at the age of 88. Mr. Saenz is preceded in death by his parents, Alejandro and Josefa Saenz. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Sara Saenz and was the love of his life for 67 years, and his six children: Leticia Ramirez (Alfredo), Griselda Saenz, Alejandro Saenz, Jorge Saenz (Angie), Sara Monaco (Tony) and Eddie Saenz (Lydia). He was blessed with seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters: Norma Herrera, Vilma Kirkpatrick, Jo Trent and Lee West; numerous sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Saenz proudly served in the U.S. Army for six years and received the distinguished Purple Heart Award, the Combat Infantry Badge, Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Presidential Citation.
Mr. Saenz enjoyed archery, painting, reading, and educating his family, especially his grandchildren about history. He loved hunting deer and quail. He always drove his car in the fast lane and in his prime, frequented the Mercado and Fiesta with his wife.
As per his wishes and due to COVID precautions, a private memorial will be held for his children and grandchildren. Family and friends are welcome to view the service online which can be accessed from the Castle Ridge Mortuary site. No graveside service will be held.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to everyone who has prayed, brought meals, called and visited the family during this difficult time.
