On Sunday, March 12, 2023, Alice Garcia Gonzales, a loving wife, mother and grandmother went to be with the Lord at the age of 97.
Alice was born on March 8, 1926 in San Antonio, Texas to Matias and Victoria Garcia. She is survived by her son, Richard Gonzales and his wife Earlene, her grandchildren, Andy Gonzales, Scott Gonzales, Rebecca Gonzales, Charles Gonzales, and Rudy Gonzales, six great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
She joins her parents, brother Matias, sister Rey, husband Rudy, and her sons Roland and Rudy Jr. in eternal rest.
Alice was a devout woman of God and an amazing matriarch of the family. Every facet of her life revolved around service to the Lord and the love of her family. She was an amazing cook and was extremely active in the senior community. She loved buying lipstick and makeup. She will be dearly missed.
The Rosary will be prayed at the Southside Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 7:00 pm at the Southside Funeral Home, 6301 South Flores, San Antonio, Texas 78214. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Philip of Jesus Catholic Church, 131 Bank Street, San Antonio, Texas.
