February 9, 1942 - February 8, 2023
Allen Ray Meckel, beloved Father, Husband and friend passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loved ones on Feb 8, 2023, at the age of 80. He was born to Alvin P and Mary L (Coker) Meckel on Feb 9, 1942, whom have preceded him in death. He's survived by his wife of 33 years, Myrna, and his children Allen Rene Meckel and Michele (Jeff) Zaiontz, and stepchildren, Kristy (Eric) Emmerich and Joseph (LaTonya) Whybrew and 7 grandchildren, and his brother Charles Richard (Elaine/Cookie) Meckel, and their 2 children.
Allen grew up in San Antonio where he attended Sam Houston High School. He was honorably discharged from the Army National Guard Reserves and worked at Southwestern Bell for over 34 years while enjoying his hobbies of farming, woodworking, reading and enjoying time with his family and friends.
Allen was well loved and well respected by all who knew him. Services with be held Feb 18, 2023, at the Schertz Funeral Home with visitation starting at 10 am & service at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St Paul Evangelical Church.
