Andrew Watson Obituary

November 28, 1967 - February 17, 2016
Andrew "Drew" Watson is survived by his wife of 24 years, Bridgette and his son, Tristan Ord, both of San Antonio, Texas; mother, Virginia Watson of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Leigh Watson of Raleigh, North Carolina; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. Drew was preceded in death by his father, Reginald Edward Watson, Jr.

Drew was a devoted husband and father, who never wavered in his loyalty. All who know him describe him as a "gentle giant", the kind of man that would do anything for someone he cared for. He was deeply loved by everyone he touched and amassed an enormous cadre of friends. One friend may have described Drew perfectly, saying, "He was perhaps the best of us."

He was passionate about sports, especially football, and passed that passion on to his son, Tristan, who plays for the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado.

Drew's loyalty extended beyond family and friends: he spent his entire career --27 years -- at West & West attorneys as a legal assistant.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 27, 2016, 2pm at Vertical Church, 4218 Thousand Oaks in the Arise Building, reception immediately following. All friends and loved ones are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Seal Legacy Foundation, www.seallegacy.org.

Drew was truly unique. Placed here on earth by God to bring laughter, comfort and compassion to so many. There are many hearts that have been broken with the sad news of his passing, but also so many reasons to celebrate the life he lived.

RIP my friend...thanks for always stopping work to "shoot the breeze" and talk sports with me...sorry if I took you away from your job :)...we lost you FAR too soon. You deserve so much credit for all you went through your last year or so. Please know and believe that you will ALWAYS be loved, remembered and missed by more people than you'll ever realize. Whether it's to see your Spurs go after another title or to watch Tristan wreak havoc on the football field, you now have the seat in the house, and you've earned it.
