October 18, 1952 - August 25, 2025
Annette Rose Kolodziej, Age 72, passed away peacefully in San Antonio, TX on Aug. 25, 2025. She was born on Oct. 18, 1952, to Alois V. and Mary (Labus) Kolodziej of Falls City, TX.
Annette was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Yvonne and Kenneth Kolodziej; and her husband John E. Stears.
She is survived by her children Dustin Franckowiak (Katie) and Cody Franckowiak; her siblings Jean Kopecki, Clarence Kolodziej (Denise), Kathy Sturm (Joe), Gerald Kolodziej, Jimmie Kolodziej, Leroy Kolodziej (Nancy); her two grandchildren Liam and Kaeley; along with several nieces and nephews.
Annette grew up on the family farm working in the fields and feeding the animals while also helping to care for her younger siblings. She graduated from Poth High School in 1970 where she was a member of the FFA and raised show animals. After high school she began her career at USAA in San Antonio, TX where she retired 32 years later as an IT Production Workflow Consultant. Her hobbies included dancing, listening to oldies, yard work, and managing her real estate portfolio.
A visitation will be held at the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Poth, TX on Sat. Sept. 6 at 9:00 a.m. with a rosary prayer at starting at 10 a.m. Procession to the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church Cemetery in Cestohowa, TX for a burial service to immediately follow.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the prayers and support during this time and especially wants to thank VITAS Hospice Care for providing such wonderful service and care for Annette when it was needed the most.
