We mournfully announce the passing of our mother, Barbara Ann Shepard, 86, of Houston, Texas. Barbara Ann passed away peacefully into God's graces on May 29th.

Barbara Ann was born to Jerome D. and Barbara Harris in San Antonio, TX on September 15, 1934. She was a fun-loving force to be reckoned with from the get go, graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School where she was on the Jefferson High Lasso Dance Team. Barbara Ann went on to college to study at the University of Texas and became a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. Although she attended the University of Texas at Austin, Barbara Ann was a lifelong supporter of Texas A&M University. The 17 Aggies over 4 generations in her family likely influenced her allegiance.

Barbara Ann and her first husband Bill, had three children, Mark, Matthew and Susan. As an army wife, Barbara Ann lived all over the United States as well as Germany. She went on to become a GS-13, the highest-ranking civil servant

position, as a personnel specialist for the Office of Personnel Management.

When Barbara Ann retired, she devoted most of her time to her family, especially her grandchildren where she created many fun parties and memories in her backyard pool. She also enjoyed taking many fun girls' trips to Mexico and cared for many beloved animals throughout her life. We will miss her dearly.

Barbara Ann is preceded in death by her parents Jerome D. and Barbara Harris, her brother Jerome D. Harris Jr. and her daughter Susan Shepard-Siple. Barbara Ann is survived by her son Mark and Mark's wife Sarah, her son Matthew and Matthew's husband Jim, grandchildren Elizabeth Morris, Katie Rue and Katie's husband Andrew, Kelly Inviere and Kelly's wife Phoebe, great-granddaughters Jacqueline Morris and Emmaline Rue, and many friends and extended family whom she dearly loved.

A service will be held in Barbara Ann's beloved San Antonio. Details will be announced once they are finalized.
