Barry Smith Obituary

Mr. Barry J. Smith passed away June 9, 2007 at the age of 72. He died peacefully in his home after a courageous battle with cancer. A long time resident of San Antonio, he was born in Dallas, TX, November 29, 1934. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Sadie (Harris) Smith, and his sister, Betty Sue Wilson of Dallas. He is survived by his life partner of 25 years Roxie Montesano; his niece Michele Wilson (Richard) and his nephew Steve (Diana) Wilson of Plano, TX; Roxie's children, Heather Holmes (David Russell) of Lake Elsinore, CA, Joel (Stephanie) Montesano of Moore, OK, and Jeffrey (Tiffany) Montesano of Oklahoma City, OK. He also leaves behind his beloved Bichon Frise "Mr. Fuzzy Too". Mr. Montesano extends his gratitude to the Vitas Hospice Team. A Memorial Service will be held, Saturday, June 16, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at The Episcopal Church of Reconciliation 8900 Starcrest San Antonio, TX 78217 The Reverend Robert Woody officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Episcopal Church of Reconciliation in memory of Mr. Smith. Sunset Funeral Home.

Barry was truely a kind and peace loving person and we cherrished his friendship. We have wonderful memories of the the many working and social relationships we had in Germany as well as our continued contacts when we all returned to our stateside homes.
Barry and Roxie are dear to our hearts and we were so lucky to have you both visit with us last year. No we will not cry instead we will celebrate his life in our prayers untill the day we join you in heaven above.

I always thought of Barry as a second Dad or a stepdad. I loved him very much and he was a wonderful loving person. I will miss him greatly. But now he is up in Heavan, one of gods angels watching over us. God Bless.
