Belia D. Cappetta
January 3, 1927 - October 4, 2024
On October 4th 2024, Belia Diaz Cappetta, born Maria Velia Diaz, passed away peacefully in her sleep after a brief illness. She was 97 years old. A Texas native, she was born on January 3, 1927 in Hondo to the late parents: Eleno and Theresa Diaz. After graduating Hondo High School, she moved to San Antonio, later living in Chicago for 13 years before returning to San Antonio for the remainder of her beautiful life. Belia was preceded by her first husband of 4 years Bruce Foster, second husband of 18 years Charles Aguirre, and her third husband of 20 years, John Cappetta, as well her youngest son Andrew Aguirre.
Her professional journey consisted of becoming a beautician, and later a switchboard operator. Always being a strong nurturer and caretaker, she then opened a daycare center before becoming a professional au pair. Belia's hobbies and many talents included interior design, gardening, and exceptionally delicious cooking.
Belia is lovingly remembered by her children: Rebecca Foster and Michael Aguirre (Maureen); three grandchildren: Lelah Foster, Eric Aguirre (Genesis), and Philip Aguirre (Kiri); seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous other close relatives and friends.
