Loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Rebecca Margaret (Scogin) Boatright, age 77, of Pleasanton, Texas, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2006, in Jourdanton, Texas. Her family fondly remembers their family gatherings revolving around her kitchen and her delectable meals. Mrs. Boatright served as Executive Director of the Housing Authority of the City of Pleasanton for twenty-five years. She became a member of Trinity Baptist Church in 1961 and served as Church Secretary for many years. She also participated in her church ministry by teaching Sunday School and serving on various church committees. She loved to fish, hunt arrowheads, garden and travel in her spare time. She is survived by her husband Earl Boatright of Pleasanton; daughter, Lynda M. Grimm and husband Red of San Antonio and son, Guy Boatright and wife Jan of Helotes. She is also survived by her sister and brothers, Myrle Scogin, Ed Scogin and wife Jo An, Milton Scogin and wife Billie all of Pleasanton as well as grandchildren, Brandon Murray and wife Mylinda, Becky Sparrow and husband Todd, D. J. Murray and wife Natasha, Ryan Boatright, Danny Grim and wife Kim and great-grandchildren, Macey Murray, Megan Murray, Taylor Grimm and Adelyn Sparrow. Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Boatright, Daniel Grimm, D. J. Murray, Brandon Murray, Todd Sparrow, Pat Scogin, Tommy Scogin and Mike Scogin. Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home, 118 West Oaklawn Road, Pleasanton, from 2:00PM to 8:00PM Sunday, January 8, 2006. The family will receive friends between the hours of 3:00PM and 5:00PM on Sunday evening. The funeral service will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton at 11:00AM Monday, January 9, 2006. Interment will be held at Rutledge Cemetery in Poteet, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to Trinity Baptist Church, 1219 North Bryant, Pleasanton, TX 78064. All arrangements are being handled by Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton. Anyone wishing to leave condolences for the family may do so at www.hurleyfuneralhome.com.
