The bond between friends can be just as strong, if not stronger, than those between family. I was incredibly lucky to have such a bond with Bryant, as we shared a special friendship throughout the last 30 years. She was not only my true friend, but very much like a second mother to me at times whether it was putting me in my place or offering me guidance and wisdom. I can honestly say she made me a better person.
She touched my life in so many ways and the lives of my loved ones to the same degree. I cherish the many wonderful and special memories. I'll always remember her as a cultured, sophisticated woman, defender of those in need, a fighter, and a brilliant and talented artist. I know her legacy lives on in her strong, intelligent & beautiful daughters and grandchildren whom are all in my prayers. My deepest condolences to Joan, Hettie, Annie, and the entire extended family.
I'll always be grateful for you, Bryant. I was extremely blessed to have your friendship. I will miss you so much.

To have a friendship as ours, you need mutual respect and support. You need boundaries. You need people to be there when it matters. You need space to grow and acceptance when you do.
You need prople to show their love in a way you can understand. And you did all of these things for me. Our souls were truly graced by God. I will miss you and take your friendship and lessons learned from you in this life with me forever. What an angel just graced heaven with her presence. We all love you and hope you took that love with you. ♥

Dear Annie & Hettie. Although we have spoken for the last several weeks, there is so much I didn't get the opputunity to say. She was the best friend to me near or far. Love is not all you need.
You need mutual respect. You need boundaries, you need prople to be there when it matters. You need space to grow... And acceptance when you you do. You need friends to show their love in a way you can understand. I just want you to know that Bryant, as my very good friend, had a beautiful soul and did all of the above for me. I, just In turn hope, that I had been this kind of friend to her.
I truly was in awe of her and I know deep down in my soul that Bryant knew. We had such a special connection, and I sincerely hope and pray she took this love for her with her. God truly graced me with her friendship. I will carry that grace of her friendship and love with me forever. Heaven has a new angel. ♥

Hettie and Annie--Some of the most fun times I ever had were with your precious Mama. She was sui generis as my father used to say--one of a kind. She will be missed beyond measure by all of us and we grieve with you two, who were the love and pride of her life.
