Cathleen Nelson Obituary
Cathie Compere Nelson passed away on Friday, April 21,2017. She was born to the late Quest and Margaret Couch on October 15, 1946.
Cathie graduated from Alamo Heights High School and attended Trinity University. She resided in San Antonio for most of her life but also lived in Dallas, Austin, and Europe. Cathie worked in sales, real estate, and law, retiring in 2010 as a paralegal.
Friends and family were Cathie's passion and delight. She loved to host and entertain and was well known for her amazing Christmas gatherings. Cathie also was well regarded for her interior decorating skills and beautiful floral arrangements.
Cathie is survived by her husband James Nelson, brothers Quest and James Couch, and Aunt Martha Dickman. She was predeceased by her brother John Couch. She leaves behind her stepsons, Christopher Nelson, and Haydn Nelson, two grandchildren, and numerous loving relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank all those who helped Cathie during her last few months., especially her dear friend Dasa Burney, and Heather and Ronda from Legacy Hospice.
Cathie was a truly loving person, who was, in return dearly loved by all who knew her. A memorial service will be on Saturday, May 6 from 2-4 pm at Puente and Sons Funeral Chapels, 14315 Judson Road, San Antonio, Texas 78233

During our high school years, Cathie tried to teach me the intricacies of candy-making, bless her! I wasn't a very good student, but the time spent with her was very special. Rest in peace, Cathie.
