CECIL KRAIG WELLMAN

Cecil Kraig Wellman passed away on February 16, 2021 in San Antonio,Texas. He was born on May 8, 1929 in Cogswell, North Dakota to August Albert Wellman and Alma Kraig Wellman. Cecil was preceded in death by his beloved wife Valerie Ann Vanstone Wellman. He is survived by his daughter, Gail Shaffer; sons, Craig Wellman, Kent and Kathy Wellman (daughter in law); grandchildren, Alton Shaffer III, Ashleigh Dawes (Chad), Amy Monsegur (Eli) and Adam Wellman; great grandchildren, Zachary Martinez, Alton Lee Shaffer IV, Ayva Dawes, Ayden Dawes and Amelia Monsegur.

On January 10, 1951 Cecil enlisted in the United States Air Force. After basic training in San Antonio Texas, tech schools in Cheyenne Wy and Scott Field Illinois, he was selected to serve in the USAFSS – A Silent Warrior. While stationed at Brooks AFB in 1952 he was chosen to go to Bushy Park England. It was there at a dance that he met the love of his life Valerie Vanstone. Cecil and Valerie were engaged and then married on May 29, 1954. After many assignments and bringing three children into the world, he was always amazed how they got together. He growing up on a farm in North Dakota and she growing up outside London.

Cecil returned to his heavenly home and is

reunited with Valerie.To her Cecil would say
