Deone Gills Lawrence was born on June 7, 1951. Passed away on November 2, 2025. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Solomon Gills Jr. and Gertrude Netter Gills. She was married to the love of her life, Stanley Lawrence. Deone was the proud mother of Denise Colton-Willis, step mother of Myekka Colton of Chicago, IL and Menyawne Williams. Her heart overflowed with love for her granddaughters - Jazzmone D. Colton-Orta, Jamone' M. Cottle, Joslyn S. Warren, and Jamarah S. Willis - and her great-grandchildren, Makai A. Cottle and Kenai A. Cottle, who brought her endless joy and laughter. Preceded in death by her brother the late Solomon Gills III. She is also survived by her devoted sister, Cynthia LaMark, who shared a lifetime of memories . She will be missed by other family and friends. Though she has transitioned, her spirit remains.
