Doug was the beloved son of Lois Knapp and the late Leslie Knapp. He grew up alongside his siblings Debbie, Greg, and Becky, forming bonds that remained strong throughout the years. Doug spent many wonderful years raising a family with Wren. As a father to Matthew, Sarah, and Daniel, Doug's presence was a steady source of encouragement and love. His grandchildren, Alex and Serenity will remember "Papa" as a kind and comforting grandpa.
Known for his ever-present smile and uplifting spirit, Doug had a gift for making others feel welcome. He was always ready with a laugh or a story to share-traits that made him a cherished friend to many. His ability to find humor in everyday moments and his genuine interest in others left lasting impressions on all who knew him.
Doug found great joy in the outdoors and hands-on pursuits. He was an avid woodworker who took pride in crafting with care and precision. His passion for arrowheading reflected his appreciation for history and nature's hidden treasures. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 4, 2025, from 03:00 PM to 06:00 PM at McNair Park 211 Park Rd. Sunrise Beach Village. Refreshments will be provided and all are welcome to share memories of Douglas.
