Edna Doebbler Obituary

Edna Gregory "Mamo'' Doebbler, 75, wife of the late Ambrose "Sonny'' Doebbler who was a descendant of Otto Doebbler died April 4, 2005 in San Antonio, TX. She was retired after 25 years from the U.S. Post Office in Asherton, TX. She was born on Dec. 23, 1929 in Sunniland, TX to Earl Curtis Gregory and Dora Mae Starnes Gregory. She married Sonny on May 31, 1947 in Three Rivers, TX. She was a member of the White Creek Baptist Church. Surviving her are a daughter, Cathy Elaine Doebbler of San Antonio, TX; two sons, Fred Lynn Doebbler and wife Donna and Ted Reese Doebbler and wife Katia both of Houston, TX; one brother, James William "Buck'' Gregory and wife Lynda of Three Rivers, TX; two sisters, Lillian Marie Mills & husband Pete of Corpus Christi, TX and Edith Irene "Snookie'' Schenck of San Antonio, TX who was raised by D.C. "Shorty'' & Lula Connor; 5 grandchildren: James Joshua, Krystal Lynn, Holly Diann, Andrew Reese and Sable Jane Doebbler. Also survived by one beloved grand-dog, Montana, who always wiggled when she knew she was going to see Edna. She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Gladys Fae Dusek who passed away in February of 1992. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2005 at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Three Rivers. Funeral services will be held 10 am on Friday, April 8, 2005 at the Doebbler Family Ranch in Live Oak County, with Rev. Weldon Harris officiating. Interment will follow at White Creek Cemetery in Live Oak County. Serving as pallbearers are Russell Earl Gregory, Rodney Martin Gregory, Danny Lynn Gregory, Ben Roth, Larry Holm, Patrick Eaves and Bill Reeves. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Wayne Mills, Richard Lee Mills and Matthew Schenck. GALLOWAY & SONS FUNERAL HOME Three Rivers, TX 78071 (361) 786-2752
