Edward Travis Obituary

EDWARD TRAVIS
January 23, 1934 - July 17, 2024
Ret. Lt. Col. Edward E Travis, age 90, peacefully passed away at his home on July 17, 2024. He was born January 23, 1934, in Scotts Bluff, NE to Manford and Lillie Travis. He grew up on a farm in Morrill, NE where he graduated from high school. He later graduated from the University of Nebraska then married Gloria White on July 31, 1955 in Scott's Bluff and was married for 65 wonderful years prior to her death.
Edward entered the Army in January 1958 and retired a Lieutenant Colonel in 1984. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener, enjoyed woodwork, leather work, teaching, story telling, listening to classic country music, western movies, watching the rodeo and absolutely loved spending time with family. He also was a loyal member of the Masonic Lodge for many years.
He is preceded in death by his wife Gloria Lee Travis, his only son Jeffrey Scott Travis and his only daughter Julie Ann Crocker. He is survived by his brother Gary Travis, granddaughter Jadyn Hill and fiancé Chance Farris, grandson Zane Travis and wife Lesley and great-grandchildren: Leila, Waylon, and LiliAnn.

Graveside Services will be held at Fort Sam National Cemetery on August 8, 2024 at 11am at shelter 1.
