I met my tocayo Efrain in April of 2013. A soft spoken gentleman and an extremely talented artist and painter. We kept in touch by phone and thru Facebook. I bought one of his small oil paintings in July. I will treasure your work always. RIP my friend.

I only knew Efrain for a short period at Fort Sam Houston but admired his work ethic, his easy going spirit and his love of music. He was a gentle soul and will be missed by many.

Pam, Reba and Jason,

I am very saddened by the loss of Efrain. Since leaving Civil Service 15 years ago, Ramos kept me updated on out Ft. Sam extended family. While we kept in touch through email or phone, I had not seen him since the hospital. He got a real kick out of me almost passing out when I saw his incision. Ramos was my mentor after an injury took me away from my mechanic job at Ft. Sam. If it were not Ramos and Rosie, I would not have had the sucess in life that I now have. Ramos gave me confidence and challenged me and many times voluntold for things that would create new avenues for me. I have a great respect for Ramos and always migrated to him because he was the voice of reason. Ramos helped me to make some of the toughest decisions in my life and in hindsight they were the right decisions. He led me to some pretty good music as well. We had many great times with Ramos at CCCC and Robert Earl Keen. REK, Sisters Morales, Dixie Chicks, and many more will never know how much Ramos promoted and sold their music for them. Ramos was just a wonderful soul, I will miss him. My prayers and thoughts are with all of you.

Pam, Reba and Jason,

My deepest sympathy to you and all your family. Ramos will always be family to me. He was the best boss I ever had! I worked for him at SARPMA before I left for the Navy. I'm so glad we reconnected after I retired. I will always miss him but never forget him.

Pam, Reba, and Jason,
I can't believe how many lives Ramos has touched! I knew he was funny (always the "life of the party"), that he was a talented artist, and that he liked music and followed some local bands. But after reading all the messages left on his Facebook page, I had no idea how MANY friends he had, and that HE WAS RESPONSIBLE for bringing the LOS LONELY BOYS to the San Antonio area! Most people would have bragged about that, but not him...he wasn't like that....
I will always cherish the memories of the many La Villita Art Shows, which were like our little family reunions, where our Mom ("Baga") and Ramos had booths right next to each other (with mine sometimes in-between). Good times...the two of them kept me in stitches. My face would actually hurt from laughing so much!
He would be so proud of you, Reba and Jason, for "stepping up to the plate" and taking care of your Mom when she needs you the most. He was very proud of you two anyway....Jason, accomplishing so much in the world of art (including a PhD!), probably living the life he would have chosen, if he hadn't been drafted into the Vietnam War....and Reba (not even biologically his, but loving you like you were), being so smart and climbing so high on the "ladder of success" in the banking industry. He came into your life at just the right time, like an Angel sent from Heaven for you and your Mom.
He was a loving husband, father, friend, and I'll add, brother-in-law. He will be greatly missed....but definitely not forgotten! Because each time I look at one of his beautiful paintings, I will remember him and all the fun times.
