Elmer R. Courtney was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at the blessed age of 95. He was born on October 24, 1929, in MT. Washington, OH to Rufus and Elizabeth Courtney. He is reunited in heaven with his parents; sisters Grace and Sally. He is loved and will be greatly missed by his wife of 75 years Bessie E. Courtney; daughter Elizabeth McMillion (Dwane); sons Elmer Courtney Jr. (Sally), Michael Courtney (Liz); grandchildren Elisha, Simon, Aaron, Molly, Jason; great-grandchildren Courtney, Mara, Abigail, Katherine; as well as extended family members and dear friends. Heaven has gained a treasured soul. He will live forever in our hearts.
Services:
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 9:30 AM with a Funeral Service at 11:30 AM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.

It was truly an honor to care for Mr. Courtney during his time at our nursing home. His gentle spirit, warm smile, and the stories he shared left a lasting impression on all of us. He carried himself with such grace and kindness-it was impossible not to feel uplifted in his presence. I also want to say how deeply I admire your family. The love and devotion you showed him were beautiful to witness, and it made our work feel even more meaningful. You welcomed us into your lives with warmth and trust, and for that, I´m forever grateful. Mr. Courtney will be missed dearly-not just as a resident, but as a cherished soul who brought light into our days. May his memory continue to shine brightly in your hearts, and may you find comfort in the legacy of love he leaves behind.

My sincere condolences for the Courtney family. I will always have fond memories of Uncle Elmer he was my favorite uncle. I Love you all. You are all in my prayers and thoughts.
