Elvira Hodge Obituary
Elvira Hodge was born in Navarro County, TX to Dennie and Annie Mae (Allen) Kelley. She was baptized at an early age and served as an active member of Timothy Methodist Church. Elvira Kelley Sheffield was married to the late Ben Andrew Sheffield, Sr., who preceded her in death in 1970. Later she married Sheriff Henry B. Hodge on October 24, 1974 and enjoyed a happy married life for 28 years. She was a loyal and devoted wife. She was also preceded in death by her father, Mr. Dennie Kelley; son, Adrian Sheffield and grandmother, Mary Lou Allen. To cherish her memories, she leaves a loving husband, Henry B. Hodge; two sons, Mr. Henry Lawrence Kelley of Chatfield, TX and Mr. Ben Andrew Sheffield, Jr. of Denton, TX; five daughters, Ms. Evelyn Annett Sheffield of San Antonio, Ms. Beverly Renee Sheffield of Denton, TX, Mrs. Wanda Marie Mays of Killeen, TX, Mrs. Loita Williams and her husband Robert Williams, III of San Antonio and Ms. Ehrikka Dionne Hodge of Elgin, TX; mother, Mrs. Annie Mae Kelley of Chatfield, TX; nine grandchildren, Shannon, Lashonia, Jeremy, Shaneka, Brittany, Kendra, Derrick, Jr., Baileigh, and Ben, III; great-granddaughter, Jardan; six brothers, Burnice Auto and Pernell Kelley, both of Chatfield, TX, Arthur Dean, Leslie and Thomas Willie Kelley, and Christopher Smith, all of Dallas; five sisters, Annie Pearl Hatley, Betty Jo Williams and Carolyn Zollifoffer, all of Dallas, Elsie Kelley of Denton, TX, Frances V. Sheffield of Channelview, TX; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2003 at Vaughan's Funeral Home from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be on Monday, January 27, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Boerne with Dr. L.A. Crenshaw and Pastor Bubba Stahl, officiating. Graveside Services will be on Tuesday in Chatfield, TX. A Memorial Fund has been set up in Elvira's name at the Security State Bank in Boerne.
