Ernesto Rodriguez,
Dear, dear Earnest. One of the really good, sweet, and kind guys. He and I have spent years picking up leaves in the morning, and if he was there at the same time, I always got a smile and a friendly wave from across the street. He never said no to any of my requests for help whether it was for something personal or for the neighborhood association.
Back in July just a few months before he died, and when I was unable to get any help from younger healthier people, he showed up at the neighborhood garden in his little red truck so that we could load up a huge yucca. He took it home, covered it with a tarp, kept it overnight, and the next morning he carried to the city brush center where he shoved it from the truck bed by himself. What a guy!
We will miss him greatly, Pam Saldana & Sanda Bailey

Ernie and family: We were on the Military Veterans for Christ Retreat when Ben told us God had called you. I gaze back in memory of the Unit Clerk for Company B, 249th Signal Battalion at Drills when you always had a smile on your face and was so pleasant to hear your voice. You would come by the Armory at times in your Police uniform and crack jokes with us, always someone to look forward to. Jayne and Anna Lisa, Ernie is always in our thoughts and memories-I can see him now goofing off with St Peter. Surely all of us he greeted will miss him with fond thoughts and smiles. God has Blessed the both of YOU by Ernie's love for you and his being here on earth. Eternal rest grant to him, Oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him forever!.
