Frances Curtis Bogy, age 100, passed away on July 1, 2021, in Austin, Texas, with her family at her side. Frances was born in Hale County. Texas to Edward Hoyle Curtis and Lillian Amanda Burch on November 28, 1920. She was Valedictorian of her high school class, put herself through business school, and moved to San Antonio, TX in 1943, where she worked as a bookkeeper in the oil and gas industry. In 1954, she married Louis T. Bogy DPM, and they spent 49 happy years together, until his passing in 2004. She is survived by a son, William Bogy, and daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Ted Sutherland, granddaughters Kaylyn Bogy, and Arielle and Isabelle Sutherland. Frances had many interests, including gardening, travel, and genealogy. In 1989, she published A Curtis Genealogy, after years of careful research on her family. She loved her extended family and many friends, and especially looked forward to the Bogy Family Thanksgiving, a tradition that she hosted from 1970 to 2016. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the San Antonio Food Bank or the Central Texas Food Bank. A funeral service will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Friday, July 23rd, 2021, at 9:30am.
