Frank Stanush Obituary

FRANK "PAT" STANUSH III
November 28, 1942 - May 10, 2024
Frank "Pat" Stanush III passed away on Friday, May 10th, surrounded by family who loved him deeply. Pat had suffered serious health challenges of late, but he had courage, vigor, and a strong will to live.

The first child of Frank II and Dorothy Stanush, Pat was reared with the staunch family values of hard work and no waste. Along with his two younger sisters, he spent evenings, weekends and holidays helping his father at the family ranch near Spring Branch.

Pat attended Central Catholic High School and then went East to study business at the renowned Babson College in Massachusetts.

Prior to being recruited by his father to take over the helm at Travis Wholesale Florist, Pat worked as a stockbroker. Pat had the mind of a creative engineer, and throughout his life, loved anything mechanical.

At Travis, Pat not only was in charge of ordering and selling flowers from around the world, but also built meaningful connections with customers becoming friends.

It gave Pat great pleasure to reuse, repair, recycle, and repurpose. He was always generous with the most important commodities of all: his time and his heart, forever helping family and friends.

Quiet and unassuming, Pat was intelligent, curious, a voracious reader, and interested in almost everything and everyone.

He is survived by his wife Belinda (of 57 years); a daughter, Ashley Jackson (Brad); grandchildren Morgan and Matthew Jackson; sisters Susan Stanush and Carol Gagliardi; numerous extended family and a legion of friends.

In memory of Pat, the family asks that you consider giving flowers to somebody you love and consider donating blood. If you'd like to emulate Pat in the rescue department, please consider a shelter pet. Pat adored the family dogs, Taz and Suzy, both adopted from Poquita Paws Rescue.

The family would like to thank the talented staff at University Hospital and his care team at UT Medicine.

A private Celebration of Life has been held in his honor.
