Genevieve Pritchett Obituary

Genevieve Pritchett, 88, homemaker, died at Silverado Senior Living in Plano, Texas on Monday, November 12, 2007. She was born in 1919 in Detroit, Michigan, to Karol and Katrina Slobodecki. Her siblings included two sisters, Lara and Violet, and a brother, Henry. She married Dale D. Pritchett of Dana, Indiana while he was stationed at Selfridge Field, Michigan. Together they shared a career in the U.S. Air Force traveling extensively overseas with tours to Japan, Germany, and England and stationed within the United States to Ohio, California, Texas, and Idaho. They had one son, Carl. They retired in 1967 in San Antonio, Texas. Genevieve and Dale were active members of the Oakridge Baptist Church of San Antonio and Genevieve ran the kitchen committee for the church for a number of years. As an officer's wife, organizer, and friend, she was easy going, hospitable, and compassionate with a quick smile and enthusiastic greeting. She was a wonderful homemaker and cook and is fondly remembered for her desserts. Dale predeceased her in 1999. Genevieve is survived by her son, Carl D. Pritchett of DeSoto, Texas. A graveside service for Genevieve Pritchett will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 7, at Mission Park North.
