George Joseph Abdo passed away peacefully on Wednesday, the 11th of December 2024. He was 89 years of age. George was born in San Antonio, Texas, on the 19th of May 1935. He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. Teofilo Abdo and Mrs. Geneive Karam Abdo. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Donna Dann Abdo and a host of nephews and nieces. He graduated from St. Mary's University in 1963, then graduated from UTMB, Galveston, in 1967. After completing an internship at Sacramento County Hospital, he married Donna Dann in 1968. He completed a Diagnostic Radiology Residency at UTMB, Galveston in 1971. He served 2 years in the Army at Ft. Hood, Texas, before going into private practice at Houston NW Medical Center. He also worked as a radiologist at Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center and Tomball Hospital. In 2014, he retired and enjoyed participating and supporting the arts, i.e. the Alley Theater, the Houston Ballet, Houston Symphony and the Museum of Fine Arts. He spent many hours creating videos of his travels, adding music and other effects to them. He is most grateful to Houston Methodist Hospital's Lung Transplant Team for the extra ten years of life they were able to give him.
