I wish to extend my sympathy to the Carmines family, who I have known for years from being a Member of St. John's.

GERTRUDE G CARMINES (more like my MOM) I met 42 1/2 years ago. My siister Mary was working at Urology Assoc. of SAPA, SAWTELLE-HULSE-NADIG-WOLFF. I had just moved to San Antonio that December 1967. My sister asked Trudy if I could help filing charts since they were back logged and I needed a job. She interviewed me and we hit it off right away. Don't get me wrong because we could disagree on many issues but we loved each other none the less. One of the fondest memories I'll have is her coming to my home on Xmas Eve day while I made chicken tamales, bean & rice. I always made sure she had plenty to take home. I had been looking for her for about three or four weeks since I hadn't heard from her and I was worried. I had her cell number but she hadn't returned my calls. I finally figuered out that she might be in the hospital. That's when I located her at the Metropolitan Hospital room 707. I'm happy that I got to see her prior to passing away. I told her how I'd been looking for her and she was so happy to see me. She stated that she was ill and wasn't able to call but had me on her mind. I was able to tell her how much I 'LOVED" her. I gave her a kiss on the cheek, waved her goodbye. I told her I'd be
back to see next week but that didn't happen. She passed away on my 62nd birthday. I'll miss her and love our old memories we made over the years. Her loving friend, co-worker, etc. LOVE, LIDIA HERRERA RODRIGUEZ (I SURE YOU'RE IN GOD'S ARMS ALREADY).

Through all the stories Nathan told of his dear grandmother, I feel I knew this lovely lady and today, the world is both a better place because she was here and a little less bright because she is gone. Gertrude Carmines, may God's perpetual light shine upon you and may you rest in peace.
