Gregory Smith Obituary

Gregory Dean Smith
July 23, 1948 - January 10, 2025
Gregory Dean Smith, born July 23, 1948, in Kankakee, IL, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025, in San Antonio, TX. He was survived by Penny Leigh Smith, his loving wife of 56 years, sons Gregory Scott Smith and Parker Dean Smith, and granddaughter Penny Laine Smith.
Greg was a proud veteran, serving a term in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war. He graduated from Bethany College in Lindsborg, KS, where he played football, earning Rookie of the Year award, and eventually serving as co-captain of the team. He enjoyed a highly successful career in sales, earning national recognition for companies such as Xerox, and lived in Kansas and Colorado before settling in Texas with his family.
Greg touched deeply those who shared his life with him. His generosity, his charisma and his out-sized personality made him a one-of-a-kind father, husband and friend. He was dearly loved and will be dearly missed.
