Harriet Pryor Scotka passed away on April 1, 2023, at the age of 83 in San Antonio, Texas. She endured a 14-year battle with Alzheimer's.
She was born in Austin, Texas, to Richard "Skinny" Pryor and Mary Thompson Pryor. Harriet enjoyed singing in the Sacred Heart Church choir where she met many lifelong friends. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the March of Dimes.
Harriet was preceded in death by her husband; Luddy Scotka, of 63 years, her siblings; Mary Alice Clark, Richard "Cactus" Pryor, Wally Pryor, Arthur Pryor and Bill Pryor.
Her survivors include her children; Sheryl Murphy (Danny), Teri Scotka, and Steve Scotka, her grandchildren; Cody Murphy (Lexie), Kelli Pearson (Graham), Kayci Hermanns (Chris), Gracelyn Scotka, and great grandchildren; Pryor, Hiatt, Mila and sister-in-law, Pam Kierce (Brian). Harriet will always be remembered for her love of traveling, the Spurs, the Texas Longhorns, but mostly, for her love of family and her beautiful smile.
The family wants to thank Shavano Park Senior Living for their love and support over the last seven years.

My deepest condolences to you and your family. I was one to be very lucky to care for Mr and Mrs. Scotka. My name is Lisa Hernandez used to work at Shavano and will never forget that smile she gave every morning I was there 4 years and got to hear her sing and hum and one funny time is as I was helping her out of bed I started singing to her and she literally shushed me . I asked her do you not like my singing and she said No! Lmbo.. I loved so many things about her straight up fiesty sweetness of her and now she will be taking care of her children from above along side her funny loving hubby Luddy. May God take care and Bless your family always.
