Hector Rendon Obituary

June 9, 1922 - March 18, 2016
Hector Rendon, a longtime resident of San Antonio died on March 18, 2016, at the age of 93. The oldest of three children, he was born in Laredo, Texas where he grew up and served in the Army Air Corp in World War II. He was a Law Enforcement Officer in Laredo, TX and later moving to San Antonio where he retired from Civil Service after 20 years while also working as a part time Bexar County Sheriff. Upon retirement he obtained his real estate license and also worked part time as a security guard for Texas Bank downtown. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Belia Rendon, his daughter Elva Mata (Ruben), grandson Marty Rendon (Sarah), granddaughter Breye Mata (Miles Thompson), Great grandchildren Emerson and Levi Rendon, one sister Delia Gonzalez, and his loving cat Dinka. He is preceded in death by his son Mario Rendon and one sister Olga Cortez. The family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice for their amazing Kindness and help, the girls at Season's which I'm sure will miss his morning "Hey Girl, bring me some coffee" and Catherine Driesse who took care of him for three years.
A rosary will be held at Mission Park South on Wednesday, March 23, at 7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ark House Rescue Foundation.

I wish I could have seen you one more time, but I haven't been able to make it down to Texas. I'll see you upstairs when I get there and the rest of the family. We had fun drinking beer and talking about old times. You'll be missed. Homero

Tio, you will forever be missed. I will also miss knowing that if I/we were in town I/we could stop by and probe you mind for family memories and stories. May you forever be at peace and know that you've left me with nothing but good memories of you. Say Hi to Mario, my mom (your sister), Pop, Tia Juanita and everyone else up there. GOD BLESS!
