Irma Schweninger was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She left this world on August 27, 2021.

Irma was born to Leo and Agatha Feller in Odessa, Ukraine. She and her family moved to Kankakee, Illinois, where she met her husband, Adam Schweninger. They enjoyed 64 years together and grew a large family. She is survived by her husband, five children, fourteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

Irma was Adam's business partner, and together they worked in hospitality and real estate. Irma took tremendous pride in her accounting and eloquent letter writing. More than anything, she loved showcasing her German heritage. She was a longtime member of the Beethoven Damenchor, holding various positions through the years, including president. Singing and attending events surrounded by friends was very important to Irma. Loved ones remember how her face would light up whenever her husband sang, and she would smile very proudly. Irma also loved embroidery and crocheting works of art that her family treasures.

A memorial service is scheduled for 3:00pm Saturday, November 27th, at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 13888 Dreamwood Dr. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Parkinson's Foundation.
