James Cummings Obituary

James Cummings
December 4, 1940 - November 26, 2025
James Harvey Cummings, 84, went to his eternal home on November 26, 2025.
He was born in Gatesville, Texas, then was raised in Dallas, Texas. Jim graduated from The University of Texas Law School in 1966 and then served in the United States Marine Corps from 1966-1969. He served his nation with distinction in the Vietnam War, rising to the rank of Captain. He provided legal support in The Judge Advocate General's Corp and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents Raby Lee Cummings and Ruth Hamilton Cummings and his son Taylor Marsh Cummings. He is survived by his wife Barbara Hilton Cummings and his brother David K. Cummings along with his beloved children Stephanie Lisciandro (Greg), Michael Cummings (Elizabeth), and stepdaughter Elizabeth Manning. He leaves 13 beautiful grandchildren: Noah Lisciandro, Hannah Dees, Sarah Lisciandro, Joshua Lisciandro, Jackson Cummings, Isabelle Cummings, Macleay Cummings, Anneliese Cummings, Tristan Cummings, Brighton Cummings, Julia Manning, Ruthie Manning, and Nathan Manning.
In celebrating his life, we honor the memory of a remarkable man who brought joy and warmth to all who knew him.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
