Janet Wernli Obituary
February 12, 1948 - November 18, 2024
On Monday, November 18, Janet Wernli went home to her Heavenly Father. She was a woman of strong faith and loving character. Janet was born to parents, Prentis and Margaret Bishop, on February 12, 1948, in San Antonio, Texas. Janet graduated from Alamo Heights High School, class of 1966. She attended college at Texas Christian University, where she met her husband, Fritz. Janet was a teacher, first at the pre-school level and then served almost two decades as a Texas History and English teacher in Alamo Heights. Janet was an active member of Alamo Heights Christian Church and then First Presbyterian Church, where she served the Lord. Janet is survived by her son, Matthew, and daughter-in-law, Ashley; her daughter, Christina Allen, and son-in-law, Brandon Allen; and her five grandchildren: Caroline, Claire, and Charlotte Wernli; and James and Adelie Allen.
Services in celebration of Janet's life will be held at First Presbyterian Church of San Antonio on Monday, November 25th, at 11am. Donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church of San Antonio.

Like so many , I loved Janet dearly (and Fritz as well). They were the most wonderful couple and had an amazing family . Years ago Fritz taught me to make something my children would love, it was a recipe on the side of the Bisquick box! What joy I have had just knowing their family and rejoice that Fritz and Janet are together again. They taught me "joy".
