Janice Marie Buckley passed away on August 11, 2021. She was born on October 8, 1935 in San Antonio, Texas to Milton Joseph Zimmerman and Marie Justine Stanush. Janice graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School where she was a member of the schools famous dance team, The Lassos. She went on to attend University of Texas in Austin for her college years before returning to San Antonio where she met her husband of 58 years, Hugh John "Buz" Buckley. Janice was a member of many Women's Social Organizations including The Daughters of The Republic of Texas, The Women's Club of San Antonio and The Red Hat Society. When not attending social club events she enjoyed many hobbies including traveling, any and all things food, from dining out to baking her traditional Christmas Stollen. Among her many artistic interests, she was talented in porcelain doll making, quilting, and needlepointing. She was proud of her Texas roots and enjoyed telling stories of her parents and grandparents history. Janice was preceded in death by her husband Buz Buckley, parents Milton and Marie Zimmerman, and her brother, Milton Zimmerman Jr. She is survived by her four children Chip Buckley, Kathi Buckley, Diana Buckley, and Cari Buckley and her three grandchildren Cody Simmons, Bo Simmons, and Kennedy Buckley. Services were held privately.
