Janie C. Martinez, age 92 of Floresville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, with her loving family by her side. Janie was born November 14, 1931, in Floresville, Texas to Alfredo C. Castro Sr. and Sinforosa Elizardo Castro.
Janie is preceded in death by her husband, Juan J. Martinez; parents, Alfredo and Sinforosa Castro; grandson, J.J. Martinez; sisters, Mary Green, Guadalupe (Lupe) Castro, Trinidad E. Delgado; brothers, Louis Castro, and Alfredo E. Castro Jr.
She is survived by her sons, Daniel C. Martinez, David C. Martinez and wife Patricia; sister, Filomena C. Martinez; grandchildren, Monica M. Veliz (Gilbert), Janella Mendez, Austin J. Martinez; great grandchildren, Krislyn Veliz, Ariah Leal, Nathaniel Leal, Jaice Martinez; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at The Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, Texas. A Rosary will be recited there beginning at 10:30 AM, with the Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 AM. A Burial will follow the services at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, in Floresville, Texas.
