Jason Thompson Obituary

THOMPSON
On February 13, 2013, Jason Elliott Thompson joined his Heavenly Father at the age of 19. A lifelong resident of San Antonio, TX, Jason attended Smithson Valley High School, graduating in 2011. He participated in the Spring Branch Middle School band program and continued this interest in high school. He played the baritone all four years of high school in both the marching band and the concert band. He served as Band Quartermaster during marching season for the last two years. Band trips allowed him to travel to Florida and California. He developed his work ethic and gained many friends in the band environment. He enjoyed family vacations in which he got to travel to South Padre Island, Port Aransas and Lake L.B.J. in Texas, the Bahamas and Cozumel, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, New Mexico, Arizona, Hawaii, Colorado and Wyoming, to name a few states. In the summer after his sophomore year, as a member of the German Club, Jason was an exchange student in Denzlingen, Germany. He was a member of the Teen ACTS Retreat team and an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Spring Branch, TX. Jason was attending San Antonio College with plans to transfer to Texas A&M in the fall to major in mechanical engineering. Jason was very kindhearted and loved animals, especially his dogs and cats. He is survived by his loving parents, James and Rebecca Thompson; younger sister Ashley; and grandparents, Bernard and Naomi Jacobi of Spring Branch as well as his aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends. Jason was preceded in death by grandparents, Jack and Elizabeth Thompson. Jason was so loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 17, 2013, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

May God's loving grace provide you comfort, peace and strength in your grief. We remember Jason from the Life Teen masses and choir practices, specifically his passion for music and giving praise to the Lord with his gifts. He was always kind, gracious, encouraging, and sincere to us. Thank you for sharing this handsome picture of him, happy memories can help us all cope thru the grief and remember our blessings. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, as we lift Jason up in prayer. Eternal rest grant unto Jason, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he find rest in our Savior's loving embrace.
