Jesse Cabrera Obituary
Jesse A. Cabrera, a loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Monday March 21, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 69 years old.
A memorial mass will be on Monday April 4 11:00 am at St Francis Cabrini Catholic Church on Acton Hwy in Granbury TX. Interment will be at National Cemetery Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio TX.
Jesse was born to Jesse G and Santos Rivera Cabrera on October 10, 1946 in San Antonio TX. He was a member of St Francis Cabrini Church in Granbury TX. He loved Pecan Plantation and the many friends he made there. He served honorably in the US Air Force.
Jesse began a US Postal Career in San Antonio TX as a clerk. He retired as an Executive in 2003 after 36 years of service. He held positions in Austin TX, Columbus OH, and Washington DC before retiring in Dallas TX as Manager Finance, SW Area.
He was proceeded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Beverly and their blended family Michael and Bonnie Pugh of Austin TX, Tony and Valarie Cabrera of Austin TX, and Brandon and Andria Ellis of Arlington TX; four granddaughters, Julia Cabrera, Sophia Cabrera, Miranda Pugh, and Mattie Ellis; four sisters, one brother and many nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Friends for Animals, 2885 Fall Creek Hwy, Acton TX 76049.

Thoughts and prayers to the Cabrera Family. Jesse was an exceptional person, so knowledgeable, professional and the best "Boss" I had during my 30 years in the Postal Service. His employees always enjoyed his humor - one funny guy.

You were my big brother. You had a great life cut short too soon. The Lord provided a mind and body as a gift to treat as our temple. You, as a man, did everything to honor that. You made the very best of your life as a son, father husband and brother. May the Lord rise you up on the last day.

just want to bid a friend farewell. I met Jesse in high school and he lived about a block away from me. I lost contact with him after i graduated in 1964. I am saddened to learn of his passing. my heart felt condolence to his family. As a side note it turns out that my mom and his dad were also school mates.
