My bicycle shop was next to JB's Barber Shop for 25 years. When things were slow I would go over and sit in a barber chair and JB and I would have wonderful conversations. His shop was filled with pictures of dogs playing poker, and dozens of cool little trinkets like the plastic duck that would dip and drink water all day. JB was a classic and his clientele loved him. His garden in front of the shop was always perfect and even won beautification awards. JB had an employee, Lonnie, who would shine shoes. When he got to old to do even that he still came to the shop and JB always took care of him and paid him anyway.
