John C. Rhoades

Colonel John C. Rhoades, U.S. Air Force (Retired), age 85, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2004. He was born January 3, 1919 in Nottingham, England to Harry Rhoades and Maude Mary Buttress Rhoades. He held a degree in Microbiology, was an alternate for a Rhodes Scholarship and received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Washington State University. During his last assignment he was the Dental Surgeon at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado. He was preceded in death by his his parents and a brother. He is survived by his loving wife, Marguerite C. Rhoades; son, John C. Rhoades and his wife Michele M. Rhoades; granddaughter, Rachael M. Rhoades. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at 11:30 A.M. at Air Force Village I Chapel with Rev. Al Snyder officiating. Graveside Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. later that afternoon at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
