Mr. Schell was a very kind and thoughtful man. He was my Grandmother's (Pauline Whelpley) neighbor for a long time. I remember him fondly. Rest in Peace.

I enjoyed working with John for many years on the EN copydesk. He was a lovely, sweet man who could always be counted on to bring a box of fried chicken to our saturday night potluck dinners on the desk. I will always remember how he would answer the phone on the copy desk with his deep, deep voice. He is one of those truly memorable characters I enjoyed working with in the newspaper business.
