Joseph Peterson Obituary
Joseph L. Peterson, Jr., passed away unexpectedly March 28. He was born Dec. 11, 1942, in Gadsden, Ala., the son of Dr. Joseph L. Peterson and Irma Spivey Peterson. He attended schools in Northport, Ala., and graduated from the University of Alabama, earning a law degree. His first jobs were with State Farm Insurance in Birmingham, Ala., and Texaco in New Orleans. In 1972 he moved with his family to San Antonio to work at Stewart Title. After earning his law license, he founded a law practice specializing in real estate law.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Wright Peterson; son, Eric Fisher Peterson (Joanna); and beloved grandchildren, Keller and Fionna of Queens, N.Y.; sister, Kathryn P. Cocke; niece, Allison C. Lerner (Brad), and daughters Meredith and Ainsley, Rockville, Md.; nephew, David C. Cocke (Tanya), and sons Thomas, Patton and Marshall.
A gathering will be held in the future where friends of this avid golfer and University of Alabama football fan can recall their favorite stories.

I just found out about his passing. We worked in same building on Citizens Parkway, until we moved in February of 2017. Joe and I would often talk SEC football in the hallway.

Virginia this is Rita and my heart goes out to you and your family Joe was such a special person and good friend that you could always count on to help you when you needed him. I do apologize for not being there for you or being able to help you in anyway due to the surgeries I've had this month. Prayers to you and your family during this sorrowful time as he will be truly missed by a lot of people
