My heartfelt sympathy is sent to you both as I learned of the passing of your father, Knox.
I'm a longtime member of the SA Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas and always remember the really great outings we made to your parent's place on Diversion Lake hiking the trails he'd "bush wacked" up to the top where we could look down on the lake! He loved that place and we found several plants that were "new" to us! The last time I saw him was at the Lookout Mountain Trail on Nacogdoches Road when he asked me to meet him there and go identify two trees he couldn't recognize. He was really good at plant names, and on one outing, he had invited Bill Carr, an expert plant authority to join us...what an honor!
He was a special friend...and, I loved hearing your Mom talking about her quilting friends and their trip to the lake!
My life has been richer having had Knox as a native plant friend.
Blessings to you and your families. Love, Lottie

I am one of the many who was blessed to live in Knox´s neighborhood. He was truly a gem and the neighborhood "mayor," or as my kids like to call him, the neighborhood "grandpa." I always looked forward to seeing him walk by with his sweet Lily, visiting with neighbors, friends, UPS drivers, contractors, etc. He made time to get to know everyone and their life story. He knew ALL of the MANY kids in the neighborhood by name and they all adored him. My family was grateful to have had the opportunity to visit his lake house with him last fall and we enjoyed our time there so much. More than anything, I enjoyed watching Knox be in a place he loved and the joy I saw in him as he shared that slice of heaven with us for a day. We are all very sad around here. It just will never be the same without Knox and Lily taking their daily walks in the hood. We are praying for peace and comfort for all that knew and loved him and we thank God for the blessing of Knox Miller! I will never ever forget him and the impact he has made on our family. Sending love to all of you as you mourn this loss.

My Dearest Elaine and Stacy,
My deepest thoughts go out to you both today. I am so saddened to hear the news of your dear Father and a Mentor and Friend that I grew up with in my early days. He was such a wonderful man. He was so thoughtful, caring, loved everyone he encountered and most of all a wonderful teacher to us all. I remember the old days he was always out playing sports with all of us whether football, basketball, etc. Your Mom and Dad were so good to my parents and myself as I was growing up in the old neighborhood. As time marches on we all travel to see our maker. So sad for all of us but know he is in Heaven with our "Dear Lord" at peace now. He will always be remembered as a true Hero to me.
May He rest in peace now with his lovely wife. He and your mother will always be looking down on you both with big smiles and grins.
I will truly miss your father,
Teddy Watson
