Lawrence Dublin Obituary

February 19, 1945 - August 20, 2014
Lawrence Craig Dublin passed away on August 20th, 2014 in Schertz, TX at the age of 69. He was born in San Angelo, Texas on February 19, 1945 to Virginia McBurnett Dublin.
He graduated high school from Peacock Military Academy in San Antonio, Texas. He joined the Army where he became a Captain, served in Vietnam, and attended Texas A&M University where he graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering.
Larry and Janet met in El Paso, Texas, married and moved their family to Houston, Texas in 1973, where he worked for the engineering firm Turner Collie & Braden and became a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. He formed his own construction company in 1974 and operated The Dublin Company, specializing in civil construction, until the mid-80s.
Larry moved to the San Antonio area in the mid-90s where he went back in to the field of engineering. He worked for Ford Engineering for several years where he became partner and had a passion for

mentoring young engineers.
He was an active participant on the
Schertz City Council and became the City Engineer for Schertz in
2008. After he retired from City Engineer in 2012, he served on the board of the Schertz-Seguin Local Government Corporation, and he contributed his time and efforts towards the design and ongoing construction of the Veteran's Memorial Plaza in Schertz, Texas.
He was an avid reader, and his favorite hobby was woodworking. He will be remembered with honor. He is survived by his devoted wife, Janet Sue Dublin, their four children, John L Dublin, Jeff Dublin, Patricia Duignan and Amy Dublin, 8 loved grandchildren, father John Dublin and brother Chris Dublin.
Services will be held at Schertz Funeral Home, 2217 F.M. 3009, at 9:30AM on Friday, August 29th, with the burial to immediately follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with United States Army Honors.
