Leonard J. Schwartz passed away on October 13, 2022, at 79. He was preceded in death by his parents Oscar & Ethel (Eastman) Schwartz. As well as his parents-in-law, Milton & Paulene Eichelbaum.
He is survived by his daughter Michele Schwartz, her husband Jesse Gordon, and his two grandchildren Elliott & Mirah Gordon. He is also survived by his wife of over 55 years, Sandy E Schwartz; his siblings and their spouses, Alan & Dr. Joyce Schwartz, Linda & Andy Schwartz-Wright; brother & sister-in-law Melvin & Marlene Eichelbaum. Leonard is also survived by his numerous nieces and nephews, their children, and many cousins.
Leonard was born September 23, 1943, in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated Jefferson High School and earned his BA in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. He graduated with his JD from the University of Texas Law School.
He was a proud alumnus and a lifelong Texas Longhorns fan.
Leonard asked for donations in his memory to be made to the ACLU.
The family wishes to thank Hospice Austin for their care in Leonard's last month. There are no words for their generosity of spirit, and respect.

Sandy: I only just now tardily learned of Leonard's passing. I am so sorry for your loss. Leonard was one of those personalities about whom novels are written. I enjoyed knowing him. Rest in peace, Leonard, and best regards to you and your family, Sandy. JSA
