Mabel Ersch Obituary

Mabel Evelyn Ersch passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2001 in San Antonio, TX. She was born on April 20, 1913 in Houston, TX and was preceded in death by her loving parents, William J. and Mabel Goodson. She graduated from Tivy High School in Kerrville, TX. She married Reinhold C. Ersch in Kerrville on February 10, 1938. Mrs. Ersch was a drug department manager and cosmetologist for H.E.B. grocery stores for 27 years. She was a longtime member of Manor Baptist Church. Her sister, Marion Petty, precedes her in death, April 2000. She is survived by her special friend, Slayden Schrimer of Boerne; her daughter, Nancy Jo Dietrich of San Antonio, TX; son, Donald R. Ersch and his wife Anita of Sherman, TX; four grandchildren, April G. Smith of San Antonio, Brad C. Dietrich and wife Karen of San Antonio, Yvette Kittrell and husband Kam of Austin, and Donald R. Ersch, Jr. and wife Lisa of Sherman; seven great-grandchildren, Leticia Smith, Chuck and Amy Dietrich of San Antonio, Isaac, Grace and Mary Kittrell of Austin, and Tanner Ersch of Sherman. Mrs. Ersch will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend, and for the generosity and joy she gave others through her greeting card ministry. Mrs. Ersch and the family would like to thank her friends and caregivers from Home Nursing and Therapy who have helped to care for her in the home during the past five years. They would also like to thank the nurses and doctors of Methodist Hospital and Hospice of San Antonio Inpatient Center who have helped with her care during her recent illness. The family will see friends at Sunset Funeral Chapel in San Antonio at 1701 Austin Hwy. from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. on Friday, March 30, 2001. Pastor Judson Edwards of Woodland Baptist Church will officiate the Funeral Services that will be held Saturday, March 31, 2001 at 11:00 A.M. at Sunset Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of San Antonio Inpatient Center, Patient Care, 9303 Cinnamon Hill, San Antonio, TX, 78240.
