Mamie Gutierrez Obituary

Mamie Canales Gutierrez, age 87 of San Antonio, Texas, died on Sunday, September 11, 2005. She was born August 10, 1918 in Uvalde, Texas to Ygnacio P. Canales and Ada Fernandez Canales. Mamie is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Rafael Gutierrez; her sons Rod Gutierrez and wife Sandra and Daniel Gutierrez; daughter Ada G. Martinez and husband David; grandchildren, Andrea and Matthew Gutierrez; Amanda, Theresa and Bryan Martinez; Becky Verdi and husband Michael, JR Rodriguez and wife Vanessa; Mari Sela Corales and husband Mark; great-grandchildren, Gabriella and Christianna Corales and Dylan and Lauren Verdi; brothers Manuel, Bill, Alex and Roy Canales and sisters Stella De la Garza and Esther Pruneda. Mamie is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her sister Rosie Menchaca and brother Peter Canales. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 13th from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Porter Loring Mortuary. ROSARY TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 13, 2005 7:00 P.M. PORTER LORING CHAPEL MASS WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 14, 2005 9:15 A.M. ST. GREGORY THE GREAT CATHOLIC CHURCH 700 DEWHURST Interment in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society.
