Manuel Valdez Obituary

Manuel Mendez Valdez, born March 04, 1923, past away on Feb. 09, 2005. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Eudelia Mejorado Valdez, Sons, Robert (Diana) M. Valdez and Michael (Deborah) M. Valdez, Grandchildren: Robert Jr. (Mary Owings) Valdez and Veronica (Daniel) Herrera. Great-grandchild: Sarah Emily Valdez. Manuel was a WWII Veteran and served in Europe with the 2244th Quartermaster Truck Company (Aviation). He received an Honorable Discharge and worked at Kelly AFB for 34 years in the Aircraft Refueling section. He was a Life Member of VFW, Post 4700 and held the position of Vice Jr. Commander 1989-1990. Manuel loved to fish especially at the coast. He was a man who always believed in treating others as you would want to be treated. He will be missed by his family and friends. Our sincere thanks to the Nurses and staff at the Frank Tejeda Texas Veterans Home and the Nurses in Touch Community Hospice for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association of San Antonio. Visitation will begin Saturday, February 12, 2005 from 5:00 P.M. till 9:00 P.M. at the Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. A Rosary will be recited Sunday 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be Monday 9:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with Military Honors. Services are under the direction of Trevino Cupples Funeral Home.
