She worked for several years as an accountant/office manager in non-appropriated funds at several locations with the US Department of Defense in Europe and the US, and as an accountant/office manager for several private U.S. companies.
She was married to Jose Antonio Quintanilla, a member of the US Air Force, on October 8, 1960 in Madrid, Spain. On April 4, 1987 she married Harvey Alfred Jordan, a Civil Service retiree, until his death on October 25, 2014. They lived in Schertz, Texas during their entire marriage. During this time, she was involved in volunteer work at NE Methodist Hospital, the Schertz library, and as a docent at the San Antonio Museum of Art.
In her younger years, she enjoyed drawing, reading, knitting, and crocheting. She found joy while traveling and spending time with her family. She also had a passion for dancing. She was a folk dancer in Spain, and, while in the US, was a square dancer, as well as a line dancer, ballroom, and country dancer with her second husband, Harvey, for over 20 years. In recent years, she enjoyed spending time at the Schertz Senior Center engaging in various activities, such as yoga, Zumba, and visiting with her friends at their "Spanish" table.
