Beloved Marietta Balaoro Mercado entered eternal life on December 23, 2021 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. She was a hardworking nurse for 29 years, but her greatest pride and joy was being a loving mom to her four children. She courageously battled Stage IV ovarian cancer for 5 years, always trusting in her Lord and Savior.

Marietta was preceded in death by her mother, Vinceta; her father, Petronilo; and sister-in-law, Josephine.

She is survived by her husband, Frank; their children - Francesca (Chris), Amanda, Dominic, and Brandon; her siblings; and extended family and friends who were touched by her gentle spirit and loving kindness.

To those who wish to pay their respects and condolences - Marietta's visitation will be Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home. Chapel with the Rosary and Prayer Service to follow at 12:00 noon. The Internment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
